Can you believe summer is here again?  It doesn’t feel like it.  It is more like mid of autumn when the weather is good in the daytime and chilly at night.

Yesterday we were greeted with dark sky and rain.  And that is when mother-nature called to leave the chores and pick up a book instead.

I have been absent from the blogging world for a long time.  It is not that I didn’t want to post.  I was busy sewing non-stop.  The more I invent creations in my brain, the more I keep cutting fabrics and the more I roll the sewing machine.

The truth about it all, I have been thinking of creating lampshades.  I love home accessories and decorating.  When it comes to curtains, lamps, cushions, throws and to name, bring them on, they are my favourite stuffs that I love to work with.

And here is a lampshade I did yesterday.  I had some left over fabrics.  There are three pieces of fabrics in this project.  Like we always say “throw away no pieces of fabric.”  Therefore I used them.  In this project I did not glue anything to the drum of the shade.  Instead I stitched the fabric to the size of the drum.  Then I tightly rolled it around the drum and only used some glue to stick the two ends of the fabric together.  And which means I can remove the fabric once it gets dusty, wash it or re-use it again.

Some days ago I bought some home magazines “Country Living” and “House Beautiful.”  Many years ago I bought them every week.  But then with everything about decorating can be found online, I kind of stopped buying them.

And I was lucky enough to find the July 2019 Country Living Magazine.  I thought it would be nice to share the “Call of the Coast” with you that they are featuring this summer 2019.

And in-fact I also had some of the seaside schemes fabrics that I made summer cushions for home, gardens, balconies and porch.  And I am happy to also share them with you.

I also worked on some table napkins for summer season.  I even introduced a set of them for children.  You know when families get together and at times we make a table for children only.  I thought that since I had some smaller pieces of fabric which was from the same designer.

I made them a set for children.  They are so sweet and beautiful!  This set of napkins will make a beautiful mix and match decoration with any accessories for children dining table.

And with the above been said, I wish you all a happy summer season and a wonderful week!

Thank you for your visit!

      Hey Steffany
Thank you for visiting me and loving my DIY. I very much appreciate your little visit. Please do visit when you have time. Lampshades are not difficult to make. I think I will have to prepare another post explaining how to make one. It is so simple and easy. Looking forward to read from you. I will pop round yours. Hugs.
